There are more than 8,000 restaurant fires per year, and more than two hundred million dollars worth of damage. The three main causes of restaurant fires are grease fires, gas leaks, and faulty wiring.
Preventative measures include installing an automatic fire suppression system, keeping portable extinguishers as backup, scheduling regular maintenance on electrical equipment, having exhaust systems inspected for grease backup, and ALWAYS have an emergency trained staff.
