Is Your Roof Letting You Down?
8/13/2021 (Permalink)
The two most common causes of buckling in a roof are poor attic ventilation and moisture in your roof decking or underlayment. The roof deck is the structural components onto which everything else is placed beyond the trusses and joints. The underlayment is what lies between the shingles and the roof deck. A buckled roof doesn’t necessarily mean water can leak into living spaces, but it’s definitely something that needs immediate attention. Any time a gap is present between shingles a leak can occur, especially over time. There can be a lot of water, or a little water, but it’s always safer to assume water is there. Once the repairs are made, call the professionals at SERVPRO of Brandon at 601-829-2162 to assess and take care of any moisture or water damage that may have occurred. Unattended moisture can lead to mold and rot wood, and we are here to help!
